  1. The employee and the employer sign the contract.
  2. The employer sends the personal data needed by IT Services to the contact person. Required information:
    • first names, last name, identity number, title (finnish and english), validity time for the username.

    • For exchange teachers' user accounts, also mother tongue and nationality
  3. The contact person checks the information and submits it to the Metropolia Helpdesk.
  4. Helpdesk creates the user account and sends the account details to the contact person.
  5. The employee activates the new user account via netbank identifiers or mobile certificate.

If neither of the proposed ways are possible, Metropolia IT Services sends the account slip to the contact person who gives it to the employee.The user activates the account http://activation.metropolia.fi,accepts the terms of use and changes the password. The activation password is valid for 45 days, after that you have to get a new activation password. Instructions for getting a new activation password are same in case of forgotten password.

  1. Supervisor provides the Metropolia IT support with the necessary information about a new employee.
  2. Contact person transmits the needed information to Metropolia Helpdesk.
  3. Metropolia IT support informs to contact person when account paper is ready to be printed.
  4. Contact person prints the new user account, checks users identity, and disposes account paper to user.
  5. User activates the account following the instructions on the account paper.

 Contact person is usually the person who gives you your account paper at very first time in Metropolia.

  1. Contact person transmits needed information to Metropolia Helpdesk.
  2. Metropolia Helpdesk sends account paper to contact person
  3. Contact person checks users identity, and disposes accountpaper to user.
  4. User does activation with instructions in accountpaper.

User account is locked

If User account is locked, take contact to your contact person.

Forgotten password

New password can only get personally from user support service points Helpdesk or form your contact person.

Be ready to prove you identity by some official document.

We cannot send passwords by e-mail or SMS!
