These instructions apply to partners working in Metropolia who need Metropolia information systems (such as OMA and email) in their work.

  1. Contact personnel varies so we can't specify a nameand cannot be named in advance, but a name contact person will be given when to the partner organisation specified when a partnership begins.
  2. Contact person will ask for the information required and will deliver it to Metropolia Helpdeskprovides Metropolia Helpdesk with the required information.
  3. Required information:
    • first names

    • ,

      last name

    • personal identity code

    • job title (Finnish and English)

    • campus

    • , identity number, function for what the username is required,validity time for the username username
    • owner/contact personnel (if other than requester).

    • For Concerning those working in Metropolia premises also required title, main office and possible Metropolia extensionrequired is also Metropolia phone (if available).
    • For exchange teachers' user accounts, alsoDate of birth, mother tongue and nationality
  4. Metropolia Helpdesk will deliver a username paper to the contact person, who will hand it to the worker after checking their identification.
  5. The user activates user account.

Activation password is valid for 45 days, after that you must apply for a new one. Instructions for getting a new activation password are the same as in the case of forgotten password.

    • Will the user be added as an instructor to an implementation in OMA? YES/NO. If YES, please read through also "N.B. Concerning a teacher's permissions in OMA, note the following".
  1. Helpdesk creates the user account and sends the account details to the contact person.
  2. The partner organisation's representative activates the account using a net banking ID or a mobile certificate. If this is not possible, the account is activated using an activation password.

N.B. Concerning a teacher's permissions in OMA, note the following:

An instructor needs permissions to manage specific workspaces. Other instructors/main users can add an instructor as a main user directly to a workspace in Users and Groupd tab.

An instructor is added to an implementation's tasks. A work role in OMA must be requested from Helpdesk. A workspace will be then added for the instructor by default.

An instructor must be able to assign grades on Teacher's Desktop, which must be specifically requested from Helpdesk. The request will be assigned to the main userN.B. If the teacher in question is part of outsourcing service personnel and he/she is added using the yearly planning to a implementation, in order for him/her to administer a work space in Tuubi or/and give grades in WinhaWiivi, you must separately mention it in a request. There is no need to mention this, if it is enough for the person in question to be added as administrator for the Tuubi work space. In that case other teachers/administrators can grant the person rights to become administrator or assistant directly to the work space using the Manage link.
