Adding Another Email Account to Outlook

You can add another email account to Outlook as follows:

1. In Outlook's main view, click the File menu.

  • You will be directed to a page where you select Info > Account Settings > Account Settings...


2. The Account Settings window opens. On the Email tab, you will see your Metropolia email address. To add a new account, click New.


3. Select Email Account and click Next.

4. Enter the information for the new account and click Next.


5. Click Next to proceed.


6. If Outlook does not find all settings automatically, check the Change account settings option and click Next.


7. Choose the type of your email account and click Next.


8. Enter the required information and click More Settings.


9. The More Settings button opens a window with three tabs. You can obtain the required settings from your email service provider.


10. Once you’ve entered the settings, click OK in the Internet E-mail Settings window and Next in the Add Account window in the background.


11. Outlook will verify the settings. A green checkmark indicates that the account has been successfully tested.


12. Close the Add Account window by clicking Finish and the Account Settings window by clicking Close.

The new mailbox will appear on Outlook’s Home tab under the name you provided for it.

  2. If the function you are attempting is happening in a web browser, try the function again in an incognito or private window and in a different browser.
  3. Try searching for a solution on the site of the IT Services by using the following search methods:
    1. navigation menu of the site (on the left)
    2. search machine of the wiki (right upper corner)
    3. a general search engine, for instance Google Search
    4. alphabetical index
    5. FAQ
