How do I install an application on a Mac computer?

This answer applies only to Mac computers.
Mac computers have their own equivalent of the Windows Software Center: Managed Software Center. Install applications on your computer through it.
Not all applications available for Windows can be obtained for Mac computers. For example, applications used in various technical degree programs often work only on Windows. For more information on this topic, refer to the public webpage: Applications not available for macOS computers (only in Finnish).

If you need assistance with installing Managed Software Center, submit a service request to the helpdesk.
- Restart your computer and the device where the issue is occurring. Try the function again.
- If the function you are attempting is happening in a web browser, try the function again in an incognito or private window and in a different browser.
- Try searching for a solution on the site of the IT Services by using the following search methods:
- navigation menu of the site (on the left)
- search machine of the wiki (right upper corner)
- a general search engine, for instance Google Search
- alphabetical index
- FAQ
