How do I download my video from Microsoft Stream?
Microsoft Stream will be discontinued on April 15, 2024
All content stored on Microsoft Stream will also be deleted. Please make sure to save the videos you need according to the instructions.
Download Your Videos
1. Open your web browser and go to Microsoft Stream at https://stream.microsoft.com.
2. Click on the Sign In button.
3. If you are not already logged in with your Metropolia user account in Microsoft's cloud services, log in using your username in the format of yourusername@metropolia.fi (not your email address, but the 'short form' of your username followed by at metropolia.fi).
4. You will see the videos you have stored in Stream. Under the 'Recommended' heading, you will find random or recently accessed videos. Below that, you will see the rest of your videos.
5. Click on the 'All' button to view all your videos without any type of filtering. Make sure to download all the videos you will need in the future from this view.
6. Click on the first video you want to save.
7. The video will open. Click on the three dots above it and select 'Download'. In some cases, the 'Download' button may also be located directly above the video or elsewhere.
8. Next, you will be able to browse your computer's folders and files. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the video. You can also create a new folder using the 'New Folder' button. It is recommended to save videos, like other Metropolia work and study materials, to your Z drive. In the example image, the video is being saved in a folder named 'Stream-videot' created on the Z drive. Once you are in the folder where you want to save your video, click the 'Save' button.
9. Access your Z drive through Windows File Manager. Ensure that you can find all the videos you need in the location where you saved them.
10. If you saved your videos to a location other than your Z drive, remember to create backups on external hard drives, for example. Saving to only one location may not guarantee the safety of your files.
