Backing up WhatsApp messages
How to back up the messages?
1. Open WhatsApp-app.
2. Open Menu by clicking the three dots and select Settings.
3. Select Chats.
4. If needed log in to your Google account.
5. Configure the other settings as you like.

If WhatsApp Messenger asks permissions for your Google account, click Allow.
6. Press Back up. Above the button you can see the last time WhatsApp was backed up.
Restoring old messages
While configuring WhatsApp on your new phone, a window like this should pop up:
1. Select Continue.
2. Press Allow on every access request WhatsApp needs.
3. Press Restore.
What to Do in a Problem Situation?
- Restart your computer and the device where the issue is occurring. Try the function again.
- If the function you are attempting is happening in a web browser, try the function again in an incognito or private window and in a different browser.
- Try searching for a solution on the site of the IT Services by using the following search methods:

- a general search engine, for instance Google Search
- alphabetical index
- FAQ
