Network

Mobility Print printing works on Eduroam and Metropolia-guest networks. Using Eduroam is recommended. In the Metropolia-guest network, the connection is automatically disconnected if the network has not been used for 15 minutes.

Connect your computer, tablet, or smartphone to either of these networks before printing.

Printing from an Android phone

1. Tap Share from the app you want to print from. This is usually symbolized by three dots connected with lines. The location of this function varies in different programs. The example image is from the Edge browser.Image Removed
2. Select Print.
3. Tap on the top menu to select Printer. Choose either Mobile Print A4 or Mobile Print A3, depending on which paper size you want to print on. Make sure that the selected paper size matches the chosen printer.Image Removed
4. Tap on the printer icon.
5. Mobility Print will ask you to log in.
   1. Log in with your username in the format username@metropolia.fi.
   2. Enter your Metropolia password.Image Removed
6. Mobility Print will give a notification Print job submitted successfully.

Printing from your own computer

Installing the app on Windows

1. Download the installation file from the link and open it.
2. Answer Yes to the User Account Control window's question if it appears.
3. Select English as the language.Image Removed
4. Accept the license agreement and click Next.

5. The Mobility Print application will generate a list of available printers.
   1. Select Mobile Print A3 [Papercut] and Mobile Print A4 [Papercut] from the list.Image Removed
6. If you get an error message Failed to retrieve printer list. Do you want to retry?
   1. Make sure your computer is connected to the Eduroam or Metropolia-guest network
   2. Make sure the VPN connection is turned off.
   3. Try again.

7. Enter your username and Metropolia password.

8. Click Next.

The application is now ready for use.

Printing via Mobility Print in Windows

1. In the program where you want to print, select Print through a menu or by pressing Ctrl-P (this is often, but not always, the shortcut for printing).
2. From the printer menu that opens, choose Mobile Print A4 or Mobile Print A3 as the printer, depending on the size of paper you want to print on. Make sure that the selected paper size matches the chosen printer.Image Removed
3. Click Print.
