How to get Power BI

• You can access Power BI directly through a web browser at https://powerbi.microsoft.com/
• Log in with your Metropolia username in the format tunnus@metropolia.fi (also see detailed instructions for logging into cloud services).
• Metropolia staff already have access to Power BI licenses (Power BI Pro). Metropolia students can request a license (Power Pro Free) from the Metropolia IT Services Helpdesk. The difference between the Pro and Free licenses. 
  
  

Use the Windows application

• Access Word on a Windows computer managed by Metropolia or on your own computer.
• On computers If you need the Power BI desktop version for a computer managed by Metropolia, such as workstations, Microsoft Office desktop software is pre-installed. If necessary, you can change the version of the desktop software using the help.

Use the Mac app

• Metropolia Mac digi spaces: See Facilities → Choose a location → Computers subheading.
• On Metropolia staff Mac computers, the application is pre-installed.
• For your own computer, download and install the Onedrive application using the help.

Use the mobile app

• Download the Microsoft Word mobile app from your phone's app store.

• If you need the Power BI desktop version for your personally managed computer, you can download it from https://powerbi.microsoft.com. The download link can be found at the top of the page under the "Downloads" heading (look for the downward-pointing arrow icon). Log in to the aforementioned page and the desktop application using your Metropolia username in the format userID@metropolia.fi.

Office 2019 Desktop

• Ready in the computers administred by Metropolia
• In the Office apps package that Metropolia staff and students may download to their own computers.

Office 365 Desktop

• Metropolia staff can download the 365 versioin to their work computers on the Metropolia Software Center. 

Oneline version

• Online version (aka web version) is used on computers that are online. Metropolia staff and students use the software for their Metropolia works on their Metropolia accounts. Before the deployment you have to accept the Metropolia terms of use. For more information.

Mobile apps

• Users have to download the mobile apps in the application stores of Apple or Google.
