Printer not printing?
check that the printer is powered on and that there is no error message in the printer display and that there are no warning lights. Check the print queue. A pending print job may keep other documents from being printed. If there is no visible cause for printing failure, try turning the printer off and then on again. If rebooting the printer does not help, please, make a service request to Helpdesk. The service request should state clearly the problem with the printer, the printer location and the printer name (if known).
How do I check the print queue?
You can quickly bring the print queueu to view by clickin on the printer icon in the notification area in the bottom right corner of the screen.
You can also click on the Start menu icon.
Select Devices and Printers.
Double-click on the printer icon.
A window opens and shows the pending print jobs. You can remove your document from the queue by right-clicking the document icon and selecting Cancel.
Printer out of ink?
The printer is running out of ink if you receive a notification on the screen or the print quality is uneven. A color printer might stop printing when any one of the color cartridges is empty.
The custodian takes care of changing the printer cartridge for Toshiba multifuction printers. To have other printers' cartridges changed, please make a service request to Helpdesk to prevent damages. In the service request, please state the location and model of the printer (e.g. LaserJet3005dn).
Paper jam in the printer?
Multifunction devices provide instructions for clearing a paper jam. Follow the instructions. With other printers, make sure that paper has been lifted all the way from the tray. If you cannot see the jammed paper, open the color cartridge cover and remove the cartridge. Remove the paper jam, reseat the color cartridge and close the cover. If the paper is stuck, or you cannot see it and the printer still complains about a paper jam, please make a service request to Helpdesk to prevent printer damages.
How do I make a printer the default printer?
Open the Start menu.
Select Devices and Printers.
Right-click the printer you want and select Set as default printer.
Printer out of paper?
Add paper to the paper tray. The printer might have more than one tray. Make sure that you are adding paper to the tray with the right paper size.
Some printers - espescially multifunction printers - display instructions on the printer screen.
How do I print double sided?
Select File | Print.
Select the printer you want in the selection window.
Click on the box that says Print One Sided.
Select Print on Both Sides from the drop-down menu.
Click on Print.
