Tips for Power Users in Mac OS X
Appleās Mac OS X system offers several ways to speed up your work with the computer.
By using various keyboard shortcuts (instead of relying on the mouse for repetitive tasks), you can also improve your work ergonomics.
Switching between active applications (cmd and TAB)
You can switch from one open application to another by pressing the cmd and TAB keys.
First, press and hold the cmd key (with your thumb), then press the TAB key (with your middle finger).
While holding down the cmd key, you can select from the open applications using either the mouse or the arrow keys on the keyboard to choose which application you want to switch to.
Quickly closing applications
If you want to quickly close multiple applications, do the following:
- First, press and hold the cmd key, then press the TAB key.
- While still holding down the cmd key, press the Q key. This will send a quit command to the selected application.
- After that, you can continue holding the cmd key and move to the next application to close by pressing the TAB key
