Creating a Desktop Shortcut from a Web Link
Here’s how to create a shortcut on the Windows desktop that links directly to a webpage:
- Open your browser and navigate to the page for which you want to create a shortcut.
- Adjust the browser window size if necessary so that you can see your Windows desktop. (If the window is maximized, click the restore button in the upper-right corner to resize it.)
- Click and hold the icon in front of the webpage's URL (usually a globe icon) and drag it to an empty spot on the desktop.
This example uses Mozilla Firefox, but the process for creating a shortcut is similar in other popular browsers.
