Phishing is criminal activity using IT resources. Phishing is the attempt to steal confidential information such as ID and account information by impersonating a trustworthy person or company.

Most phishing email messages received by Metropolia users are made to appear as password queries sent by Metropolia IT Services and relating to a system change.

Metropolia IT Services (Systems Maintenance, Data Management and System Development, User Support, Webmaster, etc.) never ask their users for passwords or other such information - neither by email nor otherwise.

Email messages requesting confidential information must be deleted immediately. The links in them should not be clicked and attachments should not be opened.

Here is an example of a password query:

2) Give us a scanned copy of your list of PINs.

Some of student and staff can´t reach their private network drive Z: due to a problem on the network drive system.

The problem is currently solved by vendor.
