Phishing is a common experience for email users these days. Metropolia email users often receive requests for their network/email passwords, user IDs, and other private data. Some of these emails can be very convincing and appear to be from Metropolia ITS Staff.
However, you should know that ITS will never, ever request your password! Emails requesting your password or other personal data should simply be DELETED upon receipt.
Below is the newest message of phishing email received here at Metropolia and should be deleted upon receipt.

Tube will be updated starting at 4 pm today November 24. During the fifteen minutes break the following fixes are done.

Metropolia is organizing a computer sale for students and other people to recycle the
removed computers. We're selling used computers and monitors.

Please note! There will not be enough video projectors for everyone. The sale is first come,

F-Secure anti-virus and firewall software update to version 12 is in progress. Most of Metropolia class room desktop computers have already been updated. Staff computer updates will begin next, on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Required update installs will begin on Sunday, November 11, 2015.
Laptops will be updated automatically when they are connected to Metropolia fixed network and reachable by F-Secure management.
In the end of the update process the computer will be restarted. After the restart, the computer will be in network quarantine for about 15 minutes, during which time network drives, email, and internet connection are not available.
