Apple published its OS X 10.9 Mavericks update for Macintosh computers on October 22, 2013.
The update is free for computers running Mac OS X 10.6 or newer.

IT Services tests operating system updates and deploys them centrally when the new operating system suits Metropolia's needs.

Ihana works on all portable devices. It accesses the user's current position to optimize the information offered in any given place, at any given moment. Latest information of other campuses can also be displayed, if the user wishes. Ihana can also be found in each campus's lobby touch screens.
Appointment reservation service will be added to Pakki and Peppi. Also, some Pakki functionalities will be fixed.

- Staff members can suggest appointment times to students and student groups
- In Tutor view, only such administrative groups will be shown that a person belongs to as a tutor

Due to updating multifunction devices will be periodically unavailable on Wed, 23rd October starting at 9.00 a.m.
During this time the Multifunction devices will be briefly unavailable and so after a while you can try again.
Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences is opening data . Data is available by web services. You can retrieve data from curriculums, courses and schedules. Published data is free and reusable. Data interfaces will be opened in November 2013.

There is a short outage (about one minute) on IT services at Tukholmankatu 10 on 15th October 2013 at 5 p.m. All IT services are unavailable during the outage.
