Over the weekend June 8-9 2019, Metropolia IT Services prepares to transfer the Leppävaara server room. Due to the preparations, there will be service outages as listed below. Services will also be slower than usual over the weekend.

New degree program specific remote desktops will be created as needed by instruction. The users of a given remote desktop must appoint a main user for the desktop. Requests to create new remote desktops or to change existing remote desktops should always come from a main user.

On Tuesday, May 14th at 17:30 - 20:00 there will be short breaks due to the software update at Myyrmäki campus (C Building) and at Myllypuro campus (floors 2-6).
Wireless network doesn´t work on the second floor on the campus of Myllypuro at the moment. Wired network is working normally.
The problem is currently solved by the vendor.
Are you interested in seeing and experiencing what happens "under the hood" in Metropolia Helpdesk? There are now summer job openings (6 jobs) for Metropolia students in IT Services User Support. The tasks include installation (changing/updating classroom computers), possibly arranging a computer sale in the late summer, checking devices sent from other campuses, surveying and documenting instruction environments, and documenting campus move tasks.
We are also looking for a student who can assist Data Protection Officer in creating a data protection course in the Moodle environment and possibly in creating a short new employee introduction course.
Summe job is paid and working time is tentatively from May 27 to April 18, 2019.

There are outages on data communication connections of campuses on the weekend from March 2 to 3, 2019 due to maintenance work of IT infrastructure. During maintenance work both IT services provided by Metropolia and internet connection are occasionally out of use.

OMA is working all the time.
We have urgent maintenance work of backbone on Friday, February 15 beginning from 3:00 pm.
Due to maintenance work there are long outages on data communication connections. During outages Metropolia´s IT systems are inaccessible both on campuses and on the internet.
We suppose the maintenance work is finished by 5:00 pm.
