There are around 50 pieces of computer packages for sale per computer sale.

A computer package includes:

  • HP 5800
  • e8400 C2D
  • 4x1GB
  • 160GB
  • No dedicated GPU
  • A license to an operating system, but no actual OS installed or an installation media
  • HP 22" display
  • A keyboard, a mouse, 2x power cables, a video cable

The items for sale can't be reserved beforehand.

All the computers have been tested and they should work. In case of any problems, the customer has to contact HelpDesk within a week from the sale.

Helpdesk phone service is not available on 25th February 2014 from 8:00 am to 13:00 pm.

During this time Peppi might be occasionally unavailable.

 

The Metropolia file server system will be serviced on Tuesday, February 2, 2014 between 9 am and 6 pm. Because of the maintenance work, each network drive will be unavailable for ten minutes. The drives will be automatically available after the outage. If the network drives are not visible again 15 minutes after the beginning of the outage, restart the computer before making a service request.

In addition, almost all Metropolia systems will run on a lower resources during the maintenance. As a consequence, you may have to wait longer than usual when using IT services.

Schedule machine  (lukkarit.metropolia.fi) will be updated today 16 p.m.

During this time the Schedule machine will be unavailable, but http://ihana.metropolia.fi is available.

Tuubi will be out of service today 5th February from 9:00pm due to maintenance.

IT Services

When printing from Mac computers to multifunction printers' Virtual Queues, the print job can now be printed out from any multifunction printer.

There will be changes in print queues on Mac workstations.

The following old print queues will be removed:

Virtual Queue Black and White double-sided

Virtual Queue Color double-sided


The new print queues are:

Virtual Queue Black and White double-sided 2

Virtual Queue Color double-sided 2


The changes in print queues take place when a Mac computer is connected to the local network by cable. If the changes do not appear within approximately one hour while the computer is connected to the network, you can run the update program in /Applications/Utilities/Managed Software Update.app

For the changes to be in effect, the updates must be installed after the program has downloaded them.


PDF files can also be printed via PaperCut Web Print service.

To create a PDF file in Mac OS X, click on the PDF button in the bottom of the print dialogue and select "Save as PDF..." or "Save As Adobe PDF".

 

For the moment printing from Mac computers to multifunction printers does not work reliably.

The problem is being investigated and a solution is hoped to be found soon.

At the moment printing works via PaperCut Web Print Service that accepts print jobs as PDF files.

Helpdesk

There have been problems with logging in to multifunction printers e.g. in the following locations:

  • Bulevardi
  • Agricolankatu
  • Alberginkatu/Kalevankatu
  • Sofialehdonkatu

The problem is being investigated.

A fifteen minutes break this Wednesday at 9 p.m.

A new Contact Information -page is implemented and some minor bugs are fixed.
