New multifunction printers were deployed last week (week 15) in several locations. The new devices were purchased in the spring after reviewing the feedback received after the initial purchases.
In addition, the Arabiankatu multifunction printers were replaced with new ones. They were made available on April 17.

There are around 50 pieces of computer packages for sale per computer sale. In addition to these, there are also 17" and 19" monitors for sale

- No dedicated GPU
- A license to an operating system, but no actual OS installed or an installation media
- HP 22" display
- A keyboard, a mouse, 2x power cables, a video cable

The items for sale can not be reserved beforehand.
All the computers have been tested and they should work. In case of any problems, the customer has to contact HelpDesk within a week from the sale.
Changes performed to Papercut service fix printing problems in Mac workstations. When printing from MFPs, print jobs would get jammed or disappear from the queue.
Please note:
- When printing files from Mac workstations to MFPs, those should not include in their file names Scandinavian or strange characters, since it has been noticed to cause printing errors.
- Replace these characters with spaces or hyphens.

Phishing is a common experience for email users these days. Metropolia email users often receive requests for their network/email passwords, user IDs, and other private data. Some of these emails can be very convincing and appear to be from Metropolia ITS Staff.
However, you should know that ITS will never, ever request your password! Emails requesting your password or other personal data should simply be DELETED upon receipt.

The multifunction device printing system was restarted on Friday morning, April 4, 2014 because of a printing problem.
If the problem still occurs when printing to multifunction printers, log in again or restart the workstation. After this printing should work normally.
There is a short outage at Tuubi on Tuesday on 1st April, 2014 from 4:00pm to 4:15pm due to updating.
Due to maintenance Metropolia services will be offline about 5 minutes. 27.3. 8:00 a.m.
Internet connection will be available.

Metropolia information systems will be maintenanced on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 4pm-22pm which will cause service outages in most Metropolia IT services (including e-mail, financial and personnel administration systems, Winha, Lync, ConnectPro, study calendar, SMART Bridgit, Conservatory Wilma and Pop & Jazz Conservatory Wilma, virtual desktop services securedesktop.metropolia.fi and desktop.metropolia.fi, VMware updates, MySQL server updates, Linux servers' updates, PHP updates, Moodle, Tuubi, and Peppi).
The maintenance break will not affect the spring joint application services (www.metropolia.fi and elomake.metropolia.fi).
Due to a minor data security update of the system, there will be a short break of service on the Metropolia wiki platform (https://wiki.metropolia.fi) on February 2014 at 16:00-16:02.
