How to Record and Play Back a Meeting
A Skype for Business meeting recording contains sound, video, instant messages, shared displays, PowerPoint presentations, notes and queries. Any participant can record a meeting and save the recording on their computer.
Start recording a meeting
1. Click on the More Options button (the three dots).
2. Select "Start recording". Recording begins.
3. If the recording option is grayed out, sound might not be connected. Turn on sound by clicking on the microphone icon and try again.
4. You can pause the recording, resume recording, and stop recording using the buttons in the lower right of the meeting window.
- You can see the other participants listed by hovering the cursor over the red recording button.
- Skype for Business records by default in an MP4 format which is playable in Windows Media Player.
- You can leave the meeting during recording.
4 When you are ready click on Stop Recording.
Playing Back and Sharing a Recording
Skype for Business lets you now when the recording is processed. Then you can play it and share it with others.
1. Go to record management by clicking on the message or by first clicking on More Options and then selecting Manage Recordings.
2. Select a recording by clicking on it and click on Play button.
3. You can rename the recording.
The recording is saved to your computer as a file in C:\Users\username\Videos. You can find the file also by using Windows search tool. Share the recording using your favorite service: you can copy the file for example to Microsoft cloud (OneDrive or SharePoint).
