2. How to open/format/establish your own workspace?
2.1 Personal workspace
- 2.1.1 Activate your own Metropolia username at http://activation.metropolia.fi if you have not already done so.
- 2.1.2 Go to the Confluence front page (httphttps://wiki2.metropolia.fi, spaces related to teaching and learning), https://wiki.metropolia.fi (commercial projects).
- 2.1.3 Login to Confluence (“Log “Metropolia Log in”, right hand corner)
- 2.1.4 Your name/image is shown in the right hand corner of the interface after which is a white an arrow. Open the menu by placing the cursor over it and clicking.
- 2.1.5 Click “Personal Space”.
- 2.1.6 You are now on your personal Confluence-page, where you can now begin to create material from the “Edit Profile” button. Give a title e.g. your name.
- 2.1.7 “Save”.
2.2 Study and project workspaces
- 2.2.1 Activate your Metropolia username at http://activation.metropolia.fi, if you have not already done so..
- 2.2.2 Apply for the workspace to be created and request for the administrative rights from Metropolia Helpdesk.
- 2.2.3 Wait for your workspace request to be handled. Provided that the workspace is created, a link will show up on the left hand side of the Confluence website. When the workspace has been made, you are now able to open it and start to produce content.
3. How do I create a new page?
- 3.1 Add Create -> Blank Page
- 3.2 Write the title into the box at the top of the page (replace “New page” with the title).
- 3.3 Compose the text body into a box located below the toolbox (B I U etc.)
- 3.4 Edit the content (sub-headings, links, images).
- 3.5 Save (by pressing Save) or delete (Cancel).

Labels | Sets a label to a page, e.g. language-fi (language in Finnish) |

- 7.1.1 Go to the page that you want to delete.
- 7.1.2 Tools -> RemoveDelete
Note! “Remove” “Delete” action moves the page and other possible attached files into the Confluence trash. These files can then be found with Google searches, but not with Confluence’s own search function. If pages and associated files should be deleted, they must be deleted separately from Confluence trash. (Browse -> Space admin -> Trash -> Purge).
