Google Drive on selainkäyttöinen tiedostojen pilvitallennuspalvelu, jonka Google-yhtiö avasi 24. huhtikuuta 2012. Se on osa muun muassa osa oppilaitoksille suunnattua Google Workspace for Education -sovelluspakettia.
Palvelu tarjoaa Metropolian opiskelijoille ja henkilökunnalle yhtensä 100 TB ilmaista tallennustilaa. Muille käyttäjille sitä annetaan maksutta viidentoista gigatavun (15 GB) verran. Lisätilaa saa maksua vastaan.
Google Driveen ladattuja aineistoja voi jakaa ja muokata yhteisöllisesti eri käyttäjien kesken. Levytilapalvelu osaa avata noin 30 eri tiedostotyyppiä katsottavaksi suoraan selaimessa.

Google lisäsi Driveen alatoiminnon Shared Drives/Jaetut drivet alkuvuodesta 2017 (alkuperäinen nimi Team Drive). Se on tarkoitettu etenkin organisaatioiden käyttöön. Shared Drivesiin säilötyissä dokumenteissa työtilan omistajaksi on määritetty "kuka tahansa" organisaatiosta. Työtilaa pystyy organisaatio siten hallinnoimaan sen jälkeen, kun sen perustaja on mahdollisesti poistunut organisaation palveluksesta. Lisää.

Google Drive is a web app that offers cloud storage service for files, launched by the Google Company on April 24, 2012. It is part of an application package called Google Workspace for Education, aimed at academic institutions.
The service offers Metropolia students and staff 100 TB storage space in total. Other users ge 15GB for free. More storage space can be bought.
Files uploaded to Google Drive can be shared and edited collectively. The file storage service can open 30 different file types for viewing directly in browser.

Shared Drives for business file sharing were added to Drive in early 2017. They offer companies an easier way to share files across their organization, along with more granular access controls over the content those shared folders contain.

To save storage space, files must be deleted from Metropolia's Google Drive after their lifecycle has ended.
Google Drive storage quotas at Metropolia:
- My Drive: 50 GB per user account
- Shared Drives: 900 GB per workspace
Shared Drives can be ordered from the Helpdesk using a form.
