Staff and students can apply for a web page address of the form xxx.metropolia.fi to be used in their projects.
The name of the subdomain will be determined by the nature of the project.
- xxx.metropolia.fi (projects)
- xxx.edu.metropolia.fi (instruction related sites)
- xxx.projects.metropolia.fi (projects that are not meant for production as such, e.g. client projects that will be transferred to the client's server)
- arkisto.metropolia.fi/xxx (archived static sites)
(xxx = name or abreviation of project)
You can send in a free-form application to Communications and Marketing (Viestintä ja markkinointi), that accepts the web address name. The application must state the reason for applying for a web address, the name of the the person in charge, the expected duration of activity of the site, and any other possible information needed when creating the site, such as whether a database will be needed. Send the application to Communications - e-mail: webmaster@metropolia.fi.
Communications will forward the application to IT Services where the required actions will take place. The website of your project will be run on a Linux platform (Apache, PHP) and a MySQL database. The web pages of the site will be accessible from the internet.
All communication concerning technical problems relating to the web address or the site should be directed to Helpdesk at hd.metropolia.fi or helpdesk@metropolia.fi.
