Word Online
Word Online is a browser-based version of Word, the text editor program which Microsoft released in 2008. It is part of Microsoft's
browser-based Office Online office application package. Office Online apps are included also in Microsoft Office 365 Education which is
used by academic institutions.
The browser-based version can be used anywhere where a web browser can be used. The app does not need to be installed on a computers.
Office Online apps open in the following browser versions:
- Internet Explorer 9 or later
- Firefox
- Google Chrome
- Safari for OS X 10.6 or later
Metropolia students and staff use Office Online apps with their Metropolia user IDs. They can also download and use for free the desktop
