Security Updates at Metropolia

Security updates are installed in three phases on computers maintained by Metropolia IT Services. Updates are installed as a background process so as to not disturb the users.

Reboot

If a computer has to be rebooted after an update, automatic rebooting is done only during the permitted time in the maintenance window.

Staff laptops check at 12 if they need a reboot. If reboot is needed, user has 4 hours to reboot their machine until reboot is forced.
