Ordering the Digital Security Starter and additional support in problem situations
General Support
If you need help with the course, the Helpdesk will direct you to the appropriate party based on your issue. You can contact the Helpdesk in the following situations:
- A technical issue prevents you from using the course
- You want to ensure that your course completion has been recorded
- You notice an error in the learning materials
- You would like to suggest a topic for the course
Ordering the Course for Organizational Use
The Digital Security Starter can be used as an organization’s own data protection and information security training if such training is not yet in place. It is sufficient to comply with the copyright and usage terms mentioned in these instructions.
An external organization outside Metropolia may obtain access to the Digital Security Starter free of charge by submitting a service request to Metropolia’s Helpdesk using the contact details below:

- The copyright of the Digital Security Starter course is owned by Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
- The course is based on the Tampere higher education community’s information security and data protection course.
Usage Rights
- You may use the course materials in Metropolia’s Moodle learning environment or transfer the content to your organization’s own learning platform.
- CC BY-NC-SA 4.0: The material may be used and modified for non-commercial purposes, provided that the author is credited and any modifications are shared under the same license.
- If you wish to obtain the course content for use, please submit a service request to Metropolia’s Helpdesk.

Moodle Support
Support related to the use of Moodle is provided by Metropolia’s Moodle team. You can contact them as follows:
- Go to hd.metropolia.fi
- Select Moodle support (requires logging in)
- Describe your issue as clearly as possible in writing and attach a screenshot or other visual documentation. Include the course area name and a direct link to the relevant content.
Did you encounter a problem?
In unclear situations, try the methods listed below to fix the problem before contacting user support.
- Restart your computer and the device where the issue is occurring. Try the function again.
- If the function you are attempting is happening in a web browser, try the function again in an incognito or private window and in a different browser.
- Try searching for a solution on the site of the IT Services by using the following search methods:
- navigation menu of the site (on the left)
- search machine of the wiki (right upper corner)
- a general search engine, for instance Google Search
- alphabetical index
- FAQ
If the problem is not resolved, please contact the helpdesk according to best practices. Always include a full screen screenshot of the issue in your service request.
