Outlook on the web

Is your email not working?

Metropolia will move email mailboxes to the cloud in summer 2026. If your mailbox has already been moved, it will no longer work in the old way. Read your email at outlook.office365.com.
When your email stops working in the old way, enable the cloud settings on all your devices by carefully following the instructions in:
Mailbox migration to Microsoft 365 in summer 2026

Outlook on the web - browser interface

  • During the transition period, sign-in to Outlook on the web is available through one of the following addresses, depending on whether your mailbox has already been migrated:
    • https://mail.metropolia.fi - Sign in using the format username
    • https://outlook.office.com - Sign in using the format username@metropolia.fi (Note: Not firstname.lastname@metropolia.fi, but your username in short form followed by @metropolia.fi.)
  • To be able to use all features of Outlook Web App, a relatively modern browser is needed. Browser choice also depends on the operating system:
    • Windows 10: Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 11, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome
    • Windows 8, 8.1, or 7 (SP1): Internet Explorer 11, Firefox or Chrome
    • Mac OS X (10.10 and later): Apple Safari 10+ or Chrome
    • Linux: Outlook.com works in both Firefox or Chrome on Linux, but some features may not be available
  • Using other browsers, only Outlook on the web light version is available which includes only the basic features
