Set in a larger context of internalization of Finnish education, the VALOA project aims at growing the employability on the Finnish job market of international degree students studying in Finnish universities.

This investigation had the aim of in depth understanding of the factors that affect the adaptation and integration processes international students go through. The main findings point out the major influence that command of Finnish language and a network of contacts, in particular with Finns, have on all stages of integration and on the perspective of being employed in Finland. The report also identifies various forms of interaction between these two factors, and between them and other facets of student life.
