The life cycle for staff member's workstations is four years. Staff members have the option of choosing either a desktop or a laptop workstation, but not both. All full-time staff members have been budgeted to a single desktop workstation, but with the acceptance from their superior, a laptop can also be arranged. In these cases IT services compensates the amount of a new desktop, and the remainder is left for the  cost pool of the superior.

Workstations no longer in use and over four years old can be reclaimed by the user from Helpdesk.

Note: Because IT services budgets each staff member with a desktop workstation,  all additional expenses from components, batteries etc. must be covered by the staff members cost pool.
