Signing out of a Windows 7 remote desktop
1. In the remote desktop, click on Start menu.
2. Click on Log off. Notice that your own computer's task bar is showing as in the picture below. If it is not showing, the remote desktop is in fullscreen mode.

Good to know
If you lose connection to the remote desktop e.g. because of a network failure, your session will continue running for some time. By signing back in to the remote desktop you can get back to the open session.
